What's Included

What console repair can include

Board-level inspection

Inspect the connector, port footprint, immediate circuit area, and visible board condition before finalizing the repair path.

Normal repair work

Complete the approved connector, port, or board-level work associated with a normal service failure.

Complete internal cleaning

Remove internal dust and debris while the device is open. This does not imply exterior cosmetic detailing.

Functional testing

Run practical output, power, charging, or video checks appropriate to the service and available equipment.

Careful reassembly

Reassemble the console carefully after inspection, service, cleaning, and testing.

TIM service where applicable

Inspect and service the applicable Thermal Interface Material (TIM) only where the platform and repair scope require it.

Thermal Service

Thermal service for consoles

Thermal Interface Material (TIM) is the material between a processor or heat-generating device and its cooling assembly. TIM wording must match the platform being serviced.

PS5 liquid metal

Inspection and servicing of the liquid-metal thermal interface, including redistribution or replenishment where required. Do not state that liquid metal is automatically replaced on every repair.

Other consoles

Inspection and renewal of the factory thermal interface where required, using wording appropriate to that console and repair scope.

Cleaning & Cooling

Cleaning and cooling service

Professional internal cleaning

Dust and debris are removed from the internal areas accessible during service. Fan and heatsink cleaning are performed as accessible during the repair.

Cooling inspection

The cooling path is inspected for dust buildup, blocked airflow, and signs that thermal service may be needed.

Fan and airflow review

Fan behavior and airflow concerns can be reviewed as part of console repair or preventive maintenance intake.

TIM service where applicable

Thermal Interface Material is inspected and serviced when the device, disassembly level, and repair scope call for it.

Preventive Maintenance

Preventive maintenance for supported consoles

Preventive maintenance can include internal cleaning, cooling-path inspection, fan inspection, dust removal, TIM service where applicable, thermal maintenance, and reliability-focused care.

  • Cleaning and cooling work should avoid exterior-detailing claims unless that service is approved.
  • TIM language must match PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, computer, or future handheld hardware.
  • Reliability language should be conservative and avoid guaranteed outcome claims.
Additional Damage

Previous repair attempts may change the quote

Connector repairs for HDMI, USB-C, power connectors, and charge ports may reveal damage beyond a normal port replacement. Lifted pads, torn traces, missing components, heat damage, adhesive, contamination, or additional board damage may require restoration work.

If inspection finds substantial previous-repair damage or unusually extensive board damage, the findings are explained and an updated quote is provided for approval before additional work proceeds. No standard surcharge is implied.

Mail-In Repairs

Ottawa-area service and Canada-wide mail-in support

Console repair and eligible cleaning/cooling work can use the same local service by arrangement and Canada-wide mail-in intake after the repair path is confirmed.
